Welcome to Gladness and Hunger, a platform dedicated to sharing content about the pursuit of God in a confusing world. In this space, I’ll share independent writings, sermons, curricula, and anything I can think of that is upbuilding and constructive for those seeking to know God better, and to ponder the mystery of the Bible and the Christian tradition.

The name of this website comes from the Frederick Buechner quote “The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.”¹ It’s my deep joy to be a writer, and to reflect on theology, spirituality, and the Christian life with all of you. I write also with the hope that my words fill a deeper need: intellectually sophisticated, thoughtful, and truthful content about what it means to be Christian.
